Trying on the helmet
TO KNOW IF A HELMET IS THE RIGHT SIZE
FOLLOW THE STEPS
1. TRY ON your helmet. Once fitted, the helmet should not be too tight and should feel comfortable without shifting. You should not have any excess space between the helmet and your head. And no pressure points or pain.
2. TEST IT, holding the helmet on your head, move your head, if the helmet moves, it is too big!
Use your hands and move the helmet from left to right and up and down. Your head should move with the helmet.
3. CHECK THE FIT, the helmet is too tight if your face tightens or it does not cover your head completely. Remember that you should be able to wear your helmet all day without being compressed.
TIPS:
- For children's helmet size, proceed in the same way.
- Do not choose a larger helmet for your child so that they can keep it longer. A helmet that is too big is a dangerous helmet. Besides, to help you keep a helmet for longer, many helmets have a size adjustment dial, which allows you to choose a size range and best fit your child as they grow.
- Also make sure you choose a helmet shape that fits your mask (if your helmet is wide and sits high on your forehead, choose a helmet that doesn't sit too low).
(NOTE: Not all manufacturers' helmets fit the same way. Therefore sizes S, M, L and XL do not correspond to the same number of cm from one brand to another. This is why you should refer to the sizes indicated in "CM" (this value being standard and universal).
