Snowboard shape

DIRECTIONAL SHAPE

Common among freeride and mountain boards, directional boards are designed to be ridden primarily in forward motion. Often stiffer in the heel and softer towards the tip to help maintain stability at high speeds. Generally, the bindings are set back. (close to the heel of the snowboard)

TRUE TWIN SHAPE

The twin shape (also called true twin shape) is completely symmetrical with identical and rather flexible tip and tail measurements. The bindings will be mounted centrally on a twin board. The twin shape is ideal for parks because of the ability to drive in both directions.

DIRECTIONAL TWIN SHAPE

A combination of twin and directional snowboards. Directional twins are a mixture of two shapes: a symmetrical shape (similar spatula and heel) combined with a directional core (spatula softer than the heel) Directional binoculars are a mixture of two shapes: a directional shape, but a symmetrical core. These snowboards are ideal for mountain and freestyle terrain.

ASYMMETRICAL SHAPE

More and more snowboards have asymmetric sidecut profiles, asymmetric cores or both. The idea behind the asymmetrical shape is that your body is not symmetrical from front to back, so your snowboard should not be either. These boards make riding easy and fun!

WOMEN'S SNOWBOARD

Women's bodies and turn mechanics are not the same as men's. Since women tend to have less body mass and smaller feet than men of the same height, women's boards are narrower with thinner profiles and softer flexes.

However, the rules for choosing your board are the same for women so you can refer to the previous tips.

CHILDREN'S SNOWBOARD

Your child may still be growing, so it is important to find a snowboard that will suit them for a long time, but be careful not to choose a board that is too big (a board that is too big endangers the safety of your child). The right size snowboard will help your child progress faster and have much more fun. Children's snowboards are generally more flexible, to give them the best support on their first ride.

TWIN-TIP AND ROCKER, THE WINNING COMBINATION IN JUNIOR SNOWBOARDS

The twin-tip snowboard is a safe bet for children.

Symmetrical front and back. It makes it easier to glide forward and backward.

The "rocker" raises the snowboard on the heel and the tip. This will accompany the young surfer in those first turns and help them to avoid falls.

This type of board makes it easier to learn!
