WHEN SHOULD A HELMET BE REPLACED?

Experts recommend replacing a sports helmet every 3 to 5 years, due to the ventilation of materials and for essential safety reasons.

NOTE:

Helmets with an EPS inner foam (which are the most common). "Single Impact", require replacement after a single accident or a fall of 60 centimetres.

Helmets with an EPP (expanded polypropylene) inner foam . "Multi Impact" is designed to withstand multiple light to moderate collisions.

SAFETY STANDARDS

Ski helmets have special characteristics, as they must both protect you from obstacles such as rocks, trees, ice and even other skiers, and keep your head warm during exercise while facilitating the ventilation of accumulated moisture.

There are two main types of ski helmets, both of which comply with the European standard EN 1077:

class A ski helmets, with a full and solid cover, intended for professional use and sporting competitions.

class B ski helmets, with soft ears, intended for recreational use.
